Militarily, the Iraqis fared better against us than the Germans did during a similar time period in WWII. This came as no surprise.
Seventy-six Senators believe we have something to gain with yet another preemptive war against a country that did us no wrong.
Since Iran is three times more populous AND more powerful than Iraq, I wonder how the Senators expect us to win anything.

This Iran vote is both telling and dangerous. We are living and, I fear, forever will, inside the military industrial complex that Eisenhower warned about.
I am surprised to see Senator Durbin's name on the YEA list. He did vote NAY n Iraq but it took a heap of phone calls right up to the last minute to secure it.

Ike Eisenhower proved the prophet. With the military/industrial complex so embedded we had no choice but to escalate the conflicts in Vietnam and in Iraq.
Ironically, many experts agree there will be no recociliation until we leave Iraq.
