Hedge Fund Money

October 3, 2007 / by thinline

OMG Barack!   MAYDAY, MAYDAY

The latest ABC/ Washington Post (and The Post is neither FOB or FOH) poll shows Hillary at a whooping 53% and you at, well, brace yourself 20%.  This, according to the strategists, is big deal when a candidate breaks the 50% barrier.

AND Hillary smacked you down on fundraising this quarter.  The records show Hillary took in more $$$$ from those coveted individual small donors.  You know, the ones you used to brag about.

But, there is good news for you, Barack.  You are still way out ahead raising money from the financial industry.  You have taken in a TON of hedge fund money.

From Goldman Sachs:

   Obama $331,828      Clinton: $136,350

From Lehman Brothers:

   Obama: $228,850     Clinton: $79,050

From JP Morgan Chase

   Obama: $186,680     Clinton: $77,650

And fear not, Barack, there is more, plenty more hedge fund money where that came from!!!! Biscuits tonight!

Hey, Barack, you don’t think that your vote with the Bush Administration and the financial industry NOT to cap credit card interest rates at a smokin’ 30% had anything to do with this, do you??

Just asking.

ASK OBAMA WHY

Since when is this election about how much money you raise from the politically connected. Their money = access when and if they are elected. Are we forgetting the fact that it is WE who pull the levers on election day. It's a fact that seems totally ignored by the media. Who cares! This election is supposed to be about leadership. But then again maybe is really about "buying an election."

I don't know what agenda the media has in discussing how much and from whom candidates raise money. My point here is that Barack "new kind of politics" Obama claims he does not and will not be bought, do favors in exchange for money, take money from federal PACs, etc. And yet, the evidence indicates otherwise.
As for money and elections, until this country adopts "free air time" for threshold candidates, nothing will change.
