I don't know much about the work history of Edwards but I do know this: Obama used to always talk about how he came to Chicago to "organize" for Bill Clinton. Now, the story is that he came to "organize" churches and to find work for people (I think that was supposed to be his hard "labor."). And we have not yet heard of anyone who was able to land an honest day's work via Obama's efforts. No doubt, since you have so rightly pointed out Obama's cushy work history and since I said what I just that, we will see a commercial showing Obama with a hard hat on real soon!! I can hear the Axelrod turning now.

Agreed. A friend of mine who worked on the Mark Warner campaign in DC said that rumor had it Hillary asked Warner to step out of the presidential race in exchange for a sure spot as VP on her ticket. I have also heard talk about Nelson of Florida...apparently Hillary went to Prayer Group with Mrs. Nelson and they are friends. But I do think Richardson will be on the short list as well...although his comments at the Logo forum do not help him!

There is no doubt that Barack was hoping to be VP but that is just not happening. Hillary does not need what Barack is selling. Hillary is already polling close to even in most jurisdictions and ahead in some with black voters. And she is leading with black women, the voters that most strategists believe wild determine the election. My recent trip to New Orleans confirmed that voters there are none to happy with Barack's response to Katrina. And if the 20 black women all wearing Hillary buttons with whom I had dinner at a home in the Mid City area of the city, are any indication of a trend, Barack will be lucky to come out of this with a respectable percentage. To win in November, Hillary needs white men and independents, neither of which Barack can deliver in the numbers needed.

I could not disagree with you more. For the sake of Barack's political career, he, apparently on the strong advice of Senator Dick Durbin, made a very bad decision. ThinLine's prediction is here: http://thinline.blogster.com/obama_hillary_richardson.html

I am thankful that voters are seeing that Barack is, as you said, a lightweight. Now, if he would just realize it and go away!

Who do you think Hillary will choose for VP?

Assuming Obama is currently a member, unless there is evidence that the Council has (and there may be) discriminated against any group protected by Title VII or any other recognized demographic to which protections have been extended by other federal legislation or state law, then ThinLine respects Obama's choice of organizations. But at any time that the Council or any organization of which he is a member discriminates against or takes action that harms a protected group, Obama should decline membership as should any elected official.

    What do you think?
