The Clinton Voter Base

October 8, 2007 / by thinline

Hey Barack, more bad news for you.  LA Times discusses the formation and composition of the Clinton base.  This, SmarmMaster Axelrod, is why the situation with Clinton is in now way like that of Howard Dean.  You have suggested that Clinton could suffer the same sudden death that befell Howard Dean.  Sorry, a voter base as diversified, pervasive and solid as identified by the LA Times means there is little if any chance that Clinton could implode like Dean.

That underscores one of Clinton's most important assets in the turbulent few months ahead of the balloting set for early January. She has built a political base -- reflected in polls -- of voters who dominate the Democratic nominating process: seniors, women and blue-collar voters.

That's a troublesome trend for Obama, who has drawn his support mainly from the young and the affluent. He had been considered the candidate most likely to slow the
Clinton juggernaut. But her lead in national polls has widened. Nationally, Clinton leads Obama 38% to 22%, according to the latest Pollster.com aggregation of surveys. Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards is under 14%. The latest campaign reports showed that in the last three months, Clinton for the first time raised more money than Obama.

ASK OBAMA TO STOP GRASPING AT STRAWS

The thought of Clinton becoming President just might scare the independents and unhappy republicans to Obama, or to her republican front-runner....One can only hope.

Thank you for writing BigBob, One can only hope that Independents consider long and hard what they would be voting for with Obama. For example and just for starters: http://thinline.blogster.com/michelle_obamas_dream.html
