Canadian Take on Obama

October 12, 2007 / by thinline

Even if some of the American media, apparently still drunk on Obama Snake Oil, will not  hammer home that Obama was

NOT VOTING, was MIA, when the bill to name the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as terrorist was called, the Canadians will.

This from the Canadian Star.com

"You can't give this president a blank cheque and then be surprised when he cashes it.''

Obama argues that Clinton has done it again, voting to encourage the administration to brand Iran's Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization, a move Obama and others have argued would ease the way for Bush, again, should he choose to launch strikes in Iran.

But even here, Obama has problems. He didn't show up for the vote.

"This wasn't a close vote,'' he says.

But then again, neither was the 2002 vote.

Then there is the Dick Durbin factor. Durbin, the senior Illinois senator and something of a mentor to Obama, voted against the Senate authorization on Iraq, and Obama has often pointed to him as proof that senators doing their homework knew how to vote.

This time, Durbin voted with Clinton on Iran.

"If I thought there was any way it could be used as a pretence to launch an invasion of Iran I would have voted no,'' Durbin said.

Hey Barack, you’ve got to know when to fold ‘em. The time is now.

ASK OBAMA TO CASH IN HIS CHIPS
